Huggie is 16 years old. He’s the oldest dog in my house. I think he looks good for his age. He has degenerative disc disease so is now getting physical therapy. He gave me a scare a week ago. He went down one night and couldn’t get up. Fortunately, I saw it and was able to help him. I thought he had lost all use of his hind legs but he was back on his feet in the morning. Now I have exercises to do with him. Wouldn’t you know it but he is very co-operative at the vet office. At home, he gets all stiff and resists my attempts to move his legs. Tomorrow, he goes back to the vet and he gets to walk on a treadmill in water. You all know how much a Papillon loves water, especially an old and yes, cantankerous one. I’ll make it up to him with a special treat after the therapy session. Hopefully, The Bug, will be up and walking when he’s 17, 18, who knows?!
I’ve added a little pictorial of Hug throughout his life. It brings back so many memories of my little best friend.

Have you ever been attacked by a puppy who is determined to cover your face with kisses? How do you fend off such an attack? I don’t know why anyone would but my daughter didn’t want Phinley kisses and this is her method to deter him.

Pheobe and her brother, Philly, feel asleep side by side. My daughter’s boyfriend noticed them and said they look like slippers. They do! Phoebe looks much bigger than Philly but they are really almost the same size. Here’s a picture:

I am a poor sad puppy! All alone in this world except for my mother. And she doesn’t love me either!

Please help me! Please save me from this lonely existence!

I am all alone!

What is Phinley whining about?

Hi, my name is Phillie. See how handsome I am?

Don’t cry, Phinley!

I will break you out!

I will chew through the bars! Chomp!

Free at last! Thanks to Phoebe!
The end!
And now you know why I haven’t posted for two months!
Stay tuned for more puppy episodes!

We had unexpected snow. Well, it was expected but it was supposed to turn into rain. So far, I don’t see rain. It’s not much, a little more than a dusting but it’s annoying to me. It did put me in the mood to share this with you. It’s a picture of Whisper as a puppy out in the snow. I snapped this picture and this is exactly as my camera captured her. I didn’t manipulate the photo in any way. I thought it was a neat effect so here it is:

I ordered PI X3 but in the meantime, I loaded PI 8. I redid the lamp by adding more butterflies. My lamp has a base and to go with the Valentine theme I added a picture of my very special Studmuffin. He’s been gone for two years now but I think of him every day. My life is a little bit emptier without him now but it’s far richer for having him in my life for those very short 13 years. Happy Valentine’s Day, Strudely Boy! I miss you!

I wanted to make a Valentine graphic so off I went to look at tutorials for inspiration. I found Rosie Hardman’s tutorial on how to make a tiffany lamp with a stained glass shade. I was inspired! After all, what says, “I love you” better than a tiffany lamp?
I decided to modify it as Rosie’s lamp features a dragonfly and mine had to have butterflies. I spent three days off and on, trying to find the right butterflies and figuring out how to modify the tutorial. I finally got the shade somewhat to my liking. Four days later and I hit a brick wall. I have a new computer so don’t have Photo Impact installed because I wanted to see how PI X3 was and I can’t make the base of my lamp because I don’t have a complete version installed yet. Waaaaah!
So here’s what I have so far until I buy PI X3.

I took my two baby pet bunnies to the vet. I noticed that Bucky loved Ebbie a bit too much. Vet gave the bunnies an exam and recommended that I wait another month to neuter them and in the meantime separate the two little lovers. This is going to be a long month for them as they enjoyed each other’s companionship very much.
During the exam, the vet advised that I was feeding them too much pellets and they should have more fresh green leafy vegetables. She explained that she asked her clients when did they see rabbits in the wild eating pellets? She’s right, when do we see rabbits or any animal eating any kind of prepared feed in the wild?
When was the last time you’ve either observed or saw a special on wolves or coyotes eating a bag of Purina, Science Diet, or any kind of prepared food? We see them eating deer, antelope, rabbits, including any number of prey animals. I wonder how many die from eating their raw bones?
I’ve been feeding my dogs and now my cat, a raw diet. I feed beef, chicken, turkey, cornish hen, smelts, and pork. I’ve observed cleaner teeth, better skin and coat condition. I thought this would be hard and complicated. It’s very easy. It’s a bit pricey but way cheaper than dentals at the vet. If you’d like good information about the proper way to feed your dog, try B-naturals.
Lucky Cat, is now over a year old and he doesn’t throw up hair balls, his litter box does not reek, his coat is not excessively oily but is very shiny, and has no dandruff. I rarely see him drinking water though he likes to play with it. He doesn’t need to drink much water because it’s there in his food.
I also don’t feed my birds pellets. I feed them seeds, lots of fresh vegetables and sprouted seeds.
Feeding our pets shouldn’t be complicated. We are smart enough to feed our children, we are smart enough to feed our pets.
